Newly graduated? Here’s why you should join a creative agency
When pursuing a career in marketing and advertising after finishing university, a big decision to make can be whether you want to work ‘in-house’ or within a creative agency.

Working In House vs Agency
Although the two may seem quite similar, there are some important differences which could open doors in different directions. Here’s three advantages of working in an agency that made me decide in favour of this career route after graduation.
1. Work across multiple brands and industries
At an agency, you’ll find yourself working across multiple clients belonging to many different industries. This will allow you to get a broader understanding of how marketing & advertising differ across different sectors - I’ve found it interesting to learn about the restrictions to advertising in different industries (i.e. alcohol, fizzy drinks, third sector…) - as well as to meet a number of clients and expand your professional network.

2. Top-of-their game professionals
When you work at an agency, you’re constantly surrounded by top-notch marketing professionals so your knowledge will continually increase without ever being outdated! You will become part of phenomenal campaigns using cutting-edge approaches to marketing and advertising. Plus, your managers will typically be very interested in investing in you and your skills to drive innovation and shared learning.

3. Work hard, play hard
To stay on top of industry trends, creative agencies typically operate in a fast-paced environment and you’ll often feel like you’re part of an assembly line when working on new campaigns. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming, but the level of teamwork that goes on in agencies is brilliant!
Last but certainly not least, hard work pays off - once work is done, we celebrate in style with social events, cocktails from our Friday drinks trolley, weekly softball matches and more.
