Scotland’s leading creative agency sets up camp in Manchester. Get the BTS of Leith’s second home in the North.
We joined Manchester’s creative scene last October when we opened our first office outside of Scotland.
Manchester is deservedly recognised as one of Europe’s largest creative, digital and technology clusters of industries. The city prides itself on being a hive of creativity and individuality, perfectly encapsulated by the Mancunian worker bee.
The great spirit of this northern powerhouse very much resonates with the hard-working ethic, down to earth individuality of the people of Leith, both places steeped in a rich history from the Leith Docks to Manchester’s Industrial Revolution. Birds of a no nonsense feather? It very much felt like a natural alliance.
And we now have a team of 9 brilliantly talented Mancunian Leithers, based in our office there. More on them to come…
Spreading the Creative Love
The Creative Clusters and Sparse Spaces: Manchester’s Creative Industries and the Geographies of Deprivation and Prosperity' study, describes the creative industries in the UK as an “economic powerhouse”. Delivering £115.9bn GVA to the UK economy, accounts for 2.2m jobs, and exports more than £50bn per year.
However, we know we don’t need the data to tell us this economic activity is predominantly located in London and the south east.
Between our offices in Leith and Manchester, we can spread our creative love across the UK… with a fresh, and real perspective which can often be lost once you’re in the bubble of the big smoke.

In the Heart of Manchester’s Gay Village
Our office is situated in Gay Village that runs along and around Canal Street - known for being a beacon of celebration and positivity, as well as a living piece of social history.
From once being in the centre of Manchester’s cotton trade to three and a half million people tuning into Channel 4 to watch Queer as Folk in 1999; the Gay Village is living proof that Manchester is one of the world’s leading gay-friendly cities.
Celebrating and creating space for people to be their truest selves is something not just close, but at the heart of Leith. To have our second home there and be an ally to the LGBT community in the North like we are in Edinburgh, really is a privilege.
Our Office
We’re lucky enough to have a state of the art online finishing suite where our Leithers can collaborate, edit and work with clients to get the perfect finish on their film.
So, whether you’re after film, animation services, or need a helping hand with video editing, artwork or photography, Leith Studios, our multi-talented in-house production studio, is ready for (ahem).... action.
