Not many people know this, but 700,000 Scottish soldiers fought in World War One and, as a proportion of population, that’s more than any other UK nation. But it wasn’t just our brave soldiers who made an impact, it was our shipbuilders, steel forgers, great woman and ordinary civilians that all contributed to making Scotland the place it is today. So to commemorate our role in those trying times, the Scottish Government asked us to create an educational and celebratory website. Using our finest digital minds, we treated it like a portal that seamlessly links off to different places where people can discover more about the topics they find most interesting. These days, Scotland is a great place to live, but if it wasn’t for the spirit of our ancestors, it could have been so different.
